Equality

Are the women who only want equality when beneficial to them a vocal minority?
Q. As evidenced by all sorts of other gender double standards, it seems many women only want equality when it is benifical to them . However I like to think most women are sensible and want any gender double standards abolished and not want any special treatment and the people who only want equality when convenient are a vocal minority. Am I right?

A. Yes you are right. Equality means equality, not a boost for one gender , over the other. That's why I still support feminism, and/ MRA. Most really do support the rights of both sexes. This site has concentrated numbers of anti rights individuals, who call themselves members of various groups, but, world wide, they are the "vocal minority".

What would social equality entail for feminists?
Q. What are some things that would need to happen for feminists to feel 'equal' with men? If you dispute the concept of total social equality, tell me why and I'll give you a puppy.

A. Anything short of utopia will not meet the feminists' expectation of "social equality." Defining what that means in plain language is impossible.

Is it mandatory for people who believe in equality between the sexes to call themselves feminist?
Q. I read feminists here claim that if you believe in equality, you re a feminist. Isn't it showing disrespect to a person, who believes and understand real equality and is strongly against feminism, because he knows that feminism is not about equality at all?

A. Absolutely not. I, like you, believe in equality, and in fairness, proper laws, protection from violent and unwarranted intrusion, a fair go when it comes to education, employment, promotion and so on. Therefore I can never be a feminist. The ongoing use of The Definition is a wolf in sheep's clothing, since, if one were to accept The Definition, and say that one is therefore a feminist, it is then assumed that one accepts every aspect of feminism, even its current and its future discrimination and abuse. This I can never do. I am compelled to use a different word, which is more meaningful - equalist is probably most suitable, but, since I actively oppose discrimination and such, I am forced to be an Anti-feminist.
